Background
This project was brought on by a traveling studio class focused in Biodiversity
Taught by Michelle Fehler, Clinical Associate Professor and Adelheid Fischer, former assistant director to ASU’s Biomimicry center. Our initial prompt for this course was Pantone’s Color of Biodiversity which they launched together with tealeaves, a sustainable and fair trade company with an interest in fair trade, sustainability and regenerative practices. In Hawaii, we met with the Mega Lab in Hilo and were swept into the world of coral reefs. We learned how important corals are for all life on this planet, how resilient they are, and how our actions are impacting them. This led us to focus our semester project on communicating our insights for the public, in the hopes that people get a glimpse of the biodiversity of coral reefs and adjust their actions so the corals can recover.
